Thank you African Moons’ partners for making it possible to celebrate a milestone this November for Lawrence Kamete. In November of 2011, he graduated from the Arusha Bible College. Your giving the past four years provided the needed scholarship for Lawrence to continue his studies and earn his B. A. in Bible and Theology at the Dodoma Bible College, a four year program. He will be graduating November 10, 2016!
We will be in Tanzania to be a part of this day of celebration!
God clearly showed Lawrence the region where he will plant a church. Kagera in the northwest area of Lake Victoria. He believes that God has a “big ministry” planned for him. Once the church is planted and growing, his vision is to reach out to neighboring countries; Uganda, Rwanda, the Congo and Burundi. Lawrence says, “My vision is big, to reach more than Tanzania!”
On September 12th, we shared the vision of African Moons with a fellowship of believers in Mabank, Texas. God blessed our time with Pastor Duane Miller and his wife, Joylene and their lovely congregation. Our time was special since Joylene and Sally were kids in Tanzania when their parents were missionaries 58 years ago!
The winds of change are marching across our beloved Tanzania. Since independence in 1961, China has been the primary source of foreign aid for the government. Recently, China announced a new military base in Somalia, with intentions to open new bases wherever they have a presence. China desperately wants to be a major player in the Middle East and Africa. It is just a matter of time before they try to have a military base in Tanzania. There is grave concern regarding China’s intentions for Tanzania and what they ultimately want to achieve.
Meanwhile, the power of the Gospel is raining down on this country. At the annual Tanzanian Assemblies of God General Council, over 300 pastors responded to give their lives to go to other nations of the world as missionaries! Isn’t it encouraging to know that the Church in Africa is also raising an army and establishing “bases’ wherever God leads. This picture is of the General Council attendees interceding for America!
II Timothy 2:2 The Message
So, my son, throw yourself into this work for Christ. Pass on what you heard from me – the whole congregation saying Amen! – to reliable leaders who are competent to teach others.
God has given us the opportunity to walk along side these men and women who are going into “Spiritual Battle” to share the Gospel. African Moons is more than buildings. African Moons is about raising up pastors, teachers, evangelists and missionaries right from the people of Tanzania. Partnering with graduates as they charge into the Harvest Fields.
Thank you for your prayers over us and the mission of African Moons. We need your prayers and your financial support. We deeply appreciate all you are doing to invest in this “end time” harvest.
Tanzania for Jesus!
