The African Moons 5th Annual Golf Tournament is now history. Players and Sponsors participated in a great day of golf at Texas Star Golf Course and contributed to raising $9,000 for Shalom Orphanage and the government schools we continue to help.
Our living room is filled with suitcases as Joel has been packing school supplies and playground game equipment. He leaves for Tanzania November 1. Mrs. Yuster Njau, our contact with the Government Schools, pictured below, responded with this email…
I hope all is well,Thank you so much about my family picture. The student will be in school by that time so don’t worry about that. These are some of the list of students’ needs; rulers, pencils, pens, sha rpeners, erasers, reading books, sports game tools like soccer balls and tether balls.
Thank you very much Mr. Joel I can’t wait to see you.
This trip will also be a special time with the 2016 Graduation class of the Arusha Bible College on November 3. Then the following week Lawrence Kamete will graduate with his BA in Theology. You might remember that through your giving Lawrence received a scholarship while attending the Arusha Bible College and then for Central Bible College in Dodoma. Here is Lawrence with a brand new HP Laptop provided by African Moons. It was just presented to him by Education Secretary Rev. Jonas Mkoba.
This trip will also give me time to visit previous graduates and document their ministries. African Moons is investing in young people like Lawrence. Every graduating class is producing young men and women who have the potential for greatness. We are simply giving them the tools and the opportunity.
I will also visit the Shalom Center Orphanage and Government Primary Schools, delivering funds and supplies and children’s books.
The headlines of today remind us of predictions written in God’s Word thousands of years ago. Romans 8:18-21 is a favorite reminder of what is ahead for us who love Christ.
18-21 In my opinion whatever we may have to go through now is less than nothing compared with the magnificent future God has planned for us. The whole creation is on tiptoe to see the wonderful sight of the sons of God coming into their own. The world of creation cannot as yet see reality, not because it chooses to be blind, but because in God’s purpose it has been so limited—yet it has been given hope. And the hope is that in the end the whole of created life will be rescued from the tyranny of change and decay, and have its share in that magnificent liberty which can only belong to the children of God!
The Philips Translation
Every day we think about you, our beloved friends and partners, and pray for you. The joy of knowing that we belong to this great cloud of witnesses brings hope and anticipation of God bringing us that magnificent liberty which can only belong to the children of God! Thank you for your partnership and prayers. Your monthly support makes this all possible.
