February NewsletterPosted on February 12th, 2020.
As we think and pray about the goals set before us this year for African Moons, we have heard the word, “Disruptor”.
Now, that may seem strange but Jesus told the disciples in Luke 12:49-53, The Message
“I’ve come to start a fire on this earth – how I wish it were blazing right now! I’ve come to change everything, turn everything right side up – how I long for it to be finished! Do you think I came to smooth things over and make everything nice? Not so, I’ve come to disrupt and confront!
A Disruptor: Someone or something that changes the way things are usually done…
Retired Cowboys player, Darren Woodson was asked what the Dallas Cowboys defense needed to be successful. He responded they need “disruptors”.
Business News’ had a recent article titled, “Leading the way: Business disruptors are helping other companies adapt to new realities”.
The Supermarket News began this year with a lead article, “Disruptors 2020: 12 people, companies and trends to watch in 2020”.
This is what we are hearing in our hearts. This is what we want for the students of Northern Bible College and the children of Shalom. Positive disruption to shake loose from the status quo in order to jump the hurdle to incredible God inspired results.
Just as God spoke to Saul in Acts 26: 17-18 NIV
“I am sending you to them to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.”
We are believing God for great results this year. We want to experience positive disruptions so that we see positive disruptors step out and shake their world for Christ. We want to follow the words spoken to Saul – open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light and from Satan to God.
We are going to begin the Preliminary Phase of the construction plan for the Phase II Dormitory. As of today, Project Manager, William Geter, Jr. is in process of converting the plans from the metric system to U.S. standards. William is in contact with the same Structural Engineer we used for the first dorm. We will be negotiating prices ahead of delivery time to contain cost.
Even though we do not have the entire $350k in hand, it is urgent that the preliminary steps be taken. The desired schedule is to have preliminary planning, demolition and excavation complete by April and the foundation completed by summer of 2020.
With great opportunities come great challenges. We have made no little plans. We have followed what we believe God has asked of us. Now we proceed with the assurance that God is directing us.
“What is faith? It is the confident assurance that something we want is going to happen. It is the certainty that what we hope for is waiting for us, even though we cannot see it up ahead. Men of God in days of old were famous for their faith.” Hebrews 11: 1-2 TLB
Thank you for your faithfulness! By faith this dorm will be filled with students ready to disrupt Satan’s plans and take the Gospel to thirsty souls!
We are eternally grateful for your friendship. The accomplishments we have experienced are because of your prayers and support. It truly is exciting to know that God is going before us and preparing the way. Thank you for walking with us!
