May NewsletterPosted on May 7th, 2020.
“DISRUPTOR” At the beginning of the year I had an unusual experience. I was thinking about African Moons and the tasks ahead of us. As I prayed, the word, “Disruptor” kept coming to my mind. I told Sally that the year 2020 was going to be a disruptive year. I was not fearful. In fact, I felt a confidence that God was preparing us to be disrupted but that God was in the disruption.
Twelve weeks ago, our lead sentence in our February newsletter began with “Disruptor”.
We had no idea what would hit our world when we wrote those words. Now we look back and are blown away by what we are all experiencing today. Is God getting our attention? Our world has been “disrupted” by COVID -19.
UPDATE FROM OUR RECENT COVID-19 APPEAL:
Recently, we made an appeal to you on behalf of the Shalom Centre children and the Northern Bible College – to help them during this COVID-19 crisis. Because of you, we sent $3200 to the Shalom Orphanage. God surely directed us to make this appeal because the orphanage had only a two-week supply of food on hand for about 70 students. Northern Bible College had an urgent need of $1500 and we were able to send that exact amount.
Principal George James wrote: Yesterday we received the money you sent for our due expenses. I assure you this has become a great miracle for us. God has used you to encourage us at this time. Thank you, very much great servants of the highest God. Once again, we appreciate your special spirit of generosity for this college.
Golden Mgonzo sends greetings from the children at Shalom Centre. They received the funds safely and are so appreciative of our generous donation and prayers. They are all doing fine. The children and staff are praying for us daily. Schools and colleges remain closed. As of last week, there are 480 cases in Tanzania. Director Golden has requested that we pray specifically for the children as they are confronted with fear and the unknown due to this virus. They continue to practice “stay home” but are worried about their relatives. Of course, we will keep you updated regarding the needs of Shalom and the College.
“I’ve come to start a fire on this earth – how I wish it were blazing right now! I’ve come to change everything, turn everything right side up – how I long for it to be finished! Do you think I came to smooth things over and make everything nice? Not so, I’ve come to disrupt and confront!” Luke 12:49-53, The Message
I believe that a HOLY GHOST fire is getting ready to burn around this world. In my Spirit, I see the Northern Bible College students standing and ready to get in the fight for lost souls. I also see a rush of new students waiting to enroll and get prepared for these last days. Now is the time to stand with determination to expect the anointing and power of God on each of our lives. Now is the time to be courageous with our faith in the Living God to accomplish all He has shown us to do.
God is in control and we will not live in fear. As soon as we are permitted to travel our plan is to be in Arusha. We will continue pre-construction work for the Phase II Dormitory for Northern Bible College as soon as possible. We believe for an influx of new students once this dorm is complete. Thank you to those who have recently given toward the dorm construction. We believe that the funds needed will be in hand according to God’s calendar.
We all continue praying for God’s intervention in our hurting world. And be assured that you are in our prayers as we walk through these days. We pray for your health, peace, and provision. We thank you for your continued support and prayers. Your faithfulness is overwhelming. We are united in His Family and are focused to see His Gospel deliver and save the people of Tanzania.
Tanzania for Jesus!
