November NewsPosted on November 30th, 2011.
What a God we serve! Sally & I recognized God working during our five weeks in Tanzania. Every evening we returned to our little apartment, reflected on the day and said, “Only God”.
The first day in Arusha we made arrangements to meet with the general contractor, Sanford Kombe. We had a tight schedule and critical decisions to make to be ready for William Geter, Jr., our project manager’s arrival from Texas, November 15.
November 1, CONSTRUCTION BEGAN FOR THE NEW DORMITORY! What a thrill to see dirt moving and the plans becoming a reality. This is a step of faith but we know God spoke to our hearts to begin with the funds we have in hand.
Habari Node Ltd., an internet provider erected the internet tower and before we left, internet was established at the principal’s office! The first phase of this project is now completed and paid for by African Moons’ donors. The next step is to provide wiring distribution to the offices, the library and the Computer Lab for the students. Principal Joel Hamuli is happy beyond words. Now he can answer emails without driving to town. Gas is over $5.00 a gallon so just imagine not having to make a 30 mile round-trip to access the internet.
Thanks to Calvary Church Prime Timers, Early Risers Sunday School Class and individuals for the school supplies, hygiene items and toys that were distributed between four schools. The joy on the faces of the children made us realize what a little bit can do to make the eyes of a child dance.
Project Manager, William Geter arrived November 15. One week later, he left having reviewed the plans and meeting with the general contractor, architect and structural engineer to assure that African Moons is making solid construction decisions on a feasible time-line to completion. We are indebted to this man for his years of expertise that is saving us dollars and time. God bless William Geter and his family for obeying God to help us with this project.
The year 2011 is winding down but the Message is always true. There is hope for those who have not heard that God has a plan and future for each of them. Life on earth is not the end of the journey so we must “press on for the prize”.
Thank you for your prayers and financial support this past year. Know that because you are helping African Moons, we are seeing the reality of the vision to help the people of Tanzania.
As you think about your year end gifts, will you consider giving to African Moons?
Your gift will help us complete the dormitory, If you are a monthly supporter or an occasional contributor, remember, your support is urgently needed.
We plan to return in February to check on the progress of the dorm and to replenish the funds needed to continue construction.
This is the Season to thank God for His blessings. May you and yours be blessed. Thank you for making a difference in so many lives.
Tanzania for Jesus!
