November NewsPosted on November 6th, 2012.
I leave this week for Arusha and need your prayers. You are a faithful partner to Sally and me. God has brought us together for His work and we are excited to see Him bless our efforts.
Thank you for praying for the funds that are needed for the next phase of dorm construction. As you read this, $7,000 has come in but $8,000 remains to pay for the windows, doors and fire escape. I will be in Arusha until November 25 so as we receive funds, Sally will forward them to me in Arusha.
The students are asking when the dorm will be finished. I can only say it all depends on funding. The need is urgent, they see the structure and it is so close to completion.
We fully expected the dorm to be finished by now. However, funds that were committed have not been given in significant amounts. This change greatly impacted our progress.
Meanwhile, since “Character is Important!” was already in the works, we applied and received permission to create our own version of Character Counts!. Character is Important! is now a coalition member of Character Counts. Michael Josephson, founder of Character Counts in Los Angeles, California, has developed character studies on the basic values called the Six Pillars of Character; Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship.
This week I am taking 2,000 copies of our “Citizenship” booklet. I will be joined by seven people from Northeast Assembly, Fresno, California. Together we will introduce this character study as a pilot program with more than 2,000 children in three different primary schools!
The opportunity to impart this teaching is incredible. This is a tool that we believe can help transform a nation! We could not delay this program. The door was opened to us and we had to step through. This effort has unlimited possibilities!
What can you do? Continue praying for the funds to complete the dormitory. Please do what you can and pray that more Pastors will join us in giving to finish the dorm.
You can give. Your monthly gifts make it possible for us to walk through these open doors.
The investment you have made into the work of African Moons has helped make it possible for us to be 75% finished with the dorm and to print and deliver 2000 copies of Character is Important! to the children of Arusha.
Everything done in your life and ours is to bring Him glory.
II Corinthians 4:7 The Living Bible
But this precious treasure-this light and power that now shine within us-is held in a perishable container, that is, in our weak bodies. Everyone can see that the glorious power within must be from God and is not our own.
Let’s give Him praise for all He is in our lives!
