Merry Christmas! I just have to share with you the events of our November trip to Arusha. Your support of African Moons made this trip possible and we were able to give wonderful supplies to the children of Arusha. It was overwhelming to witness the love of God being poured out to the children! Let’s take a safari through a few pictures.
It all began first with the Arusha Bible College graduation.
Graduation was a glorious day of celebration. The students had achieved the goal of preparation for ministry! Dorm construction continues with the windows being put in place. Thank your for giving to complete this phase of construction!
The next day, I had the privilege to speak at Calvary Temple. As I poured my heart out to the people, they responded with open hearts as I quoted Matthew 16:16, “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.” In the middle of any situation remember who we serve, He is the Christ, the Son of the Living God. The church gave a special offering to help with construction of the Arusha Bible College dormitory. They gave almost $1000.00!!!
Over the next couple of days I visited Ngarenaro Government Primary School and two private schools to verify the schedule for Character is Important! for the next week. The children were thrilled to see me again.
Then Thursday night, the group from Northeast Assembly, Fresno arrived. They had 110 soccer balls, 300 pencils, erasers, folders, sharpeners and much more. They had prepared materials for the teachers’ training sessions and fun activities for the children, including songs and skits. It was more than I could have imagined!
The next morning, even though they had an 11 hours time change, they woke up and got ready to visit our first school, Maranatha Primary School. A wonderful Christian private school that serves the poorest children in a slum area called Mianzini. This young boy is trying to take-in the pictures of our first workbook teaching Citizenship.
Monday morning we conducted “Teachers Training” for Character is Important! with 47 teachers at the government school, Ngarenaro Primary. We were in classrooms everyday from morning until the afternoon. The team performed skits and role playing about “Citizenship” including the children in every step. The teachers were so happy with our materials and encouragement. We even had a visit from the city councilman for the area, Mr. Doita Hary Isaya. He was complimentary of our team and the work we were doing.
The children of Arusha were taught Citizenship, but more than that they experienced God’s love. Our objective is to impact the culture with Godly principles. This was just the beginning. We have already heard from others wanting to go to Arusha and work with the children. We hope these pictures give you a look into what your giving has accomplished. Please continue your prayers and support. A special year-end gift would also help us with the expenses we incured for this pilot program. Thank you for caring and being a partner with African Moons.
Tanzania for Jesus!
