To our Friends and Partners…
“So, my son, throw yourself into this work for Christ. Pass on what you heard from me-the whole congregation saying Amen!- to reliable leaders who are competent to teach others.” 2 Timothy 2:2-3 MSG
Just over three years ago, Peter Elvis Nkingi was a student at the Arusha Bible College. When I met Peter, he was a young student with a love and passion for God and he was preparing himself for God’s calling. Year after year he studied and prayed gaining knowledge and maturing in his faith.
In 2013, he graduated. That same year he planted a church, Valley of Blessings, located in the Arusha area.
Last November, I visited his church service, I was blown away! The atmosphere was filled with God’s spirit and awesome Presence, The praise and worship was liberating and the congregation was comprised of mainly young families, eagerly seeking God.
As Peter proclaimed God’s Word, I was thrilled as I listened to this young man. A powerful anointing moved through him. I thought, “This young man is exactly why the Arusha Bible College is in existence.” His message and ministry connected with every person in his congregation.
During the praise and worship, The band was impressive. The drummer was great! I had to get video of him, which I posted on Facebook. Turns out this young man is the pastor’s son, also named Peter. His dad told me that Peter was interested in learning to play and had taken lessons in town. This eleven year old also learned to play the keyboard! His drum sticks were splintered, barely useable. The next day I went from shop to shop looking for new drum sticks. I found these and presented them to Peter. As you can see, that smile made my search worthwhile.
Every week Pastor Peter is sowing seeds of God’s life-changing Word into the lives of his members. The harvest from his labor will be souls who will continue growing God’s family. And we are all connected! Just like him there are more young men and women pursuing the “Call of God” at the Bible College.
African Moons is all about investing in men like Peter Nkingi and his family. The more seed sown, just imagine the harvest! Scholarships are always needed; $645 a year or $215 a semester. Pastors need instruments and sound systems. Our hearts desire is to do more to empower people of all ages. Your monthly support is crucial to African Moons. Please continue praying with us as we expect God to do the unusual this year. Thank you for partnering with us.
