The African Moons Golf Tournament will take place October 5th at Texas Star. This is our 14th year for the Tournament! We definitely are hoping for cooler weather here in Texas. We have been around 100 degrees for too long.

The proceeds of the Tournament are sown in the beautiful children of Shalom Centre Orphanage. “Christmas in a Backpack” is an outreach that truly demonstrates the love of God for the ORPHANS. These children are from varying situations. Some come from families that could not provide adequate care; some were abandoned, others survived their parents.

Also included in this outreach are unwed teens. Pregnancy as a teen means not attending school; pregnancy is not permitted in the Government Schools. The only hope they have is attending a private school. Fortunately these teen moms can receive African Moons scholarships! This means the moms are able to continue their education and their babies are cared for during the day by the Shalom staff.

So you see that your participation in The African Moons Golf Tournament as a player or Sponsor is vital to “Christmas in a Backpack”. It will directly impact the lives of children and young moms.

Wednesday, October 28, Sally and I will board a flight and go to Arusha. Our bags will be packed full of Backpacks for the children at Shalom Center Orphanage. For the past ten years you, our partners have generously given to bless the kids at Shalom. Your gift of $40.00 will provide one backpack full of personalized items for a specific child. Please consider giving once again.

  • 1 Backpack – $40.00
  • 3 Backpacks – $120.00
  • 5 Backpacks – $200.00

This budget for this trip is $3200.00 per person.

Thank you for giving once again and directly changing the lives of the children of Shalom.

Many of us are in the middle of battles, loss or physical challenges. I have a dear sister, LELE, fighting cancer, a young cousin Joey is in a hospital fighting for his life. Sally has lost her brother Mike to Parkinson’s and dear cousin, Dave Stansbury to cancer. We have also lost dear friends in the past few weeks. YET WE HAVE AN ETERNAL HOPE!

I Thessalonians 1:3 NIV

We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Your works produced by FAITH; your labor prompted by LOVE; your endurance inspired by HOPE, all because of our LORD JESUS CHRIST!

We treasure your friendship and love. We are so grateful that our Heavenly Father is carrying each of us in His Hands. He will never let us go!

Tanzania for Jesus!
