SUCCESS! The backpacks made it! But it wasn’t easy. What started out as a normal flight took a turn on KLM in Amsterdam. After we were on the plane ready to taxi, they announced that a fuel leak was discovered and we would have to disembark.

KLM rebooked my flight; I was heading to Addis Abba, Ethiopia on Ethiopian Airlines. I felt like I was on a “third owner” plane. I finally arrived at Kilimanjaro International Airport but with no luggage! All my bags were still in Addis Abba. Seven out of eight arrived 24 hours later. So from Sunday morning until Wednesday night I was in the same clothes. The last bag arrived Friday night.

But it was all worth it. Crayons, clothes, socks, dolls, toys, coloring books brought beautiful smiles to these precious children. Thank you for your love and prayers; the trip was strenuous but God gave me strength and patience. Trust me, A LOT OF PATIENCE!

You blessed the littlest ones, the young moms and all of these who look to Shalom and African Moons for food, education and a safe place to be a child. You are the most important link in this relationship. Your prayers and support result not only in “Christmas in a Backpack” but in Scholarships and a $3000.00 Quarterly Food Budget. You are blessing the orphans and young mothers with hope for a better future! THANK YOU!

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.”
