Joel Vann
Joel Vann, one of six children, was born in San Jose, California. At the age of eight, he watched a missionary’s film that determined his life’s mission.
After his high school graduation, he joined the faith based ministry of Nancy Harmon. It was during that time that he met Sally Bruton and they were married in San Jose, California. Eight months later they arrived in Nairobi, Kenya, having raised support and funds to work with Paul and Helen Bruton.
Under the direction of Paul Bruton, Joel worked with TEAM, The East African Mission, assisting in setting up the “Word of Life “ Bible correspondence courses and was involved with the logistics of arranging evangelistic crusades for Morris Cerullo, Rex Humbard, Kenny Foreman and many others.
In 1975, Joel accepted a position with Rex Humbard World Outreach Ministries, where he began his tele-communications training. During that time he graduated from Malone College in Canton, Ohio where he earned a B.A. in English and Christian Ministries.
For twenty-three years his career in television included working for James Robison, founder of Life Outreach International, in various capacities including Broadcast Operations Manager.
Later, he also served Bishop T.D. Jakes, The Potter’s House as Broadcast Manager. During these years Joel worked in many countries in Africa including; Nigeria, South Africa, Mozambique, Angola, Somalia, Kenya and Rwanda.
Joel is founder and President of African Moons.
