The days of 2026 are speeding by, and July will be here before we know it. Joel plans to visit the Special Needs kids in the Government Schools and Yuster Njau, the Director of Safe Home for Special Needs Children. Yuster tells us that our support is vital to providing hope and care for these precious kids.

“When I ponder what to write or talk about, I remember the plights of my past and why I give you praise. Then I reveal your glory by showing how you’ve worked in my life”
Psalm 143:5 (Paraphrased)

Recently, Sally was invited to interview on a YouTube podcast, “Insights with Marcia”. The hostess, Marcia Upson, met us years ago when African Moons began. It was a Sunday morning service where we spoke about African Moons, when Marcia, a perfect stranger, put a generous offering in our hands that Sunday morning. It was a great encouragement to us because we were facing a severe test of our faith as we built the first dormitory on the campus of the Arusha Bible College.

In early January of this year, Marcia invited Sally to be interviewed on her podcast, “Insights with Marcia”. Marcia began the interview with these words…

“Some stories don’t begin with a business plan or a bold idea. They begin with a calling—sometimes generations before the person who finally carries it forward.

Today’s conversation is one of those stories.

My guest is Sally Vann, co-founder of African Moons, a nonprofit doing extraordinary work in Tanzania—educating children, empowering communities, and equipping leaders for lasting change. But this isn’t just a story about a nonprofit. It’s a story about legacy, obedience, resilience, and what happens when compassion refuses to stay theoretical.

Sally comes from a multi-generational missionary family whose work in Africa began in the late 1940s. Long before African Moons had a name, before there were programs or pillars or fundraising events, there was simply a deep love for people and a willingness to go where the need was greatest.” Marcia Upson

The opportunity for Sally to share her heart on this podcast reinforced how God has faithfully charted her life to honor God. The call and prayer of Sally’s heart is poignantly expressed in – “The Impact of Saying Yes: Building a Legacy in African Moons” can be seen on

Safe Home for Children with Disabilities is our partner in Arusha. The Founders are Simon and Yuster. Every day they display God’s compassion to children with various
disabilities.

In their compact car they transport a couple of children to the Safe Home. But there are children with Cerebral Palsy who cannot get in such a small car and these
children need so much help. Yuster wants to pick up all the children she can and take them to Safe Home. This would free up the Moms to work enabling them to better
provide for their children.

They have asked if we could help them purchase a van. The goal is to raise $25,000.00 to purchase a used van in Arusha.

  • One person gives $5000
  • Two people each give $2500
  • Ten people each give $1000
  • Four people each give $500
  • Eight people each give $250
  • Ten people each give $100

Whatever you are able to give will help us reach this goal by November. You can spread your gift into 3 months or 6 months. This will be an incredible gift to transport these children so they receive love and care at “Safe Home for Children with Disabilities”!

Your continued prayers and financial support encourage us to pursue the call God has given us to minister to our beloved Tanzanians. We also know that many of our partners have requested prayer for healing. We are a God-called family who bears one another’s burdens. You can rest assured that we carry you before the Lord in prayer, knowing that our faithful Father hears our requests.

Tanzania for Jesus!
