Transforming Lives of Children with Special Needs in Tanzania

Breaking the Stigma:

In many cultures, children born with deformities were often hidden or even abandoned due to shame and misunderstanding. In Tanzania, attitudes are slowly changing and African Moons is helping break the stigma.

A Mission of Compassion:

Yuster Njau, whom we met twelve years ago, is working tirelessly to shift this narrative. Through love and giving, you are helping parents see the value and potential of every child. The message is simple but powerful: these children deserve the opportunity to thrive.

God’s perfect knowledge of man – Psalm 139:15 -16 NKJV “My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance being yet unformed.

A Life Changing Gift:

Thanks to the generosity of African Moons partners, children born with cerebral palsy are now receiving specifically designed wheelchairs. These wheelchairs are crafted by local manufacturer, Kyaro Assistive Tech, ensuring they are tailored to each child’s unique needs. Kyaro will continue to support families by adjusting the wheelchairs as the children grow.

A Moment to Remember: Godreason’s Story

On our first visit we met 16-year-old Godreason. As we arrived, he began to sing with joy, sensing something special was about to happen. After fitting him with his new wheelchair, he looked up and began to pray asking God to bless us and keep watch over us for all that we did to bless him.

His name, Godreason, echoes the question many parents ask in moments of hardship: Why? And yet, God’s presence is a powerful reminder that He has a reason beyond our understanding. God loves Godreason – and so do we.

More Lives Touched:

In addition to Godreason, Meshack, Gensen, Rainia, Baracka, Jackie, Yasir, Hamza, Malki, JoAnn and Sharon were all fitted for their wheelchairs. We purchased 12 wheelchairs because our partners gave – $250 per wheelchair. Thanks to the power of social media others saw our videos posted on FB and have responded with generosity – offering to purchase wheelchairs and walkers for more children in need. We thank God for every loving heart that has stepped forward
