The Annual African Moons Golf Tournament was in full-swing on Monday, September 30th! We were blessed with fabulous weather and the players had a great time. This fund-raising event benefits the Shalom Centre Orphanage and the November trip.
As you know the goal for “Christmas in a Backpack” is to raise funds for 171 children. We need $400.00 for ten more backpacks. In addition, school shoes are needed for fifty children at an estimated cost of $1,750.00.
For the past two years African Moons has been able to give $3000.00 every quarter to meet the food budget. Tuesday, African Moons sent $3000.00 to Shalom Centre for the 4th Quarter food budget. Your gifts will help us provide for the 2025 1st Quarter food budget
It is truly amazing to see how these players love what we are doing for children in need. “I wouldn’t miss this tournament” is what we hear from them. What blessings God pours out on African Moons!
Shopping is still taking place for the children. The volunteers then pack each child’s backpack with clothing, hygiene items, school supplies, a toy and candy. It’s a fun day when all the backpacks are ready to be brought to our home to fill the suitcases and duffle bags.
On October 31st I’ll take at least 1250 pounds of suitcases and duffle bags to Arusha and stay for ten days. The first few days will be spent unpacking and repacking backpacks by age groups. Plus, the Northern Bible College graduation is November 5th, so I’ll be blessed to be there.
Without you none of this is possible. You enable us to reach out to a child who needs to know that he is loved.
Whatever you can give will be a Christmas gift to the children and meet the ongoing needs of Shalom Centre Orphanage.
