Proverbs 4:20-23 says, “Keep my message in plain view at all times. Concentrate! Learn it by heart! Those who discover these words live, really live; body and soul, they’re bursting with health. Keep vigilant watch over your heart; that’s where life starts.”
That is the challenge before us. Be vigilant, guard your heart. This will keep us in tune to His voice. And hearing His voice is more necessary now more than ever. Tuning out the noise is not always easy but that’s what will keep us hearing Him.
Fundraising for the Phase Two Dormitory began in June and is ongoing. We are continuing to seek the funds needed to begin construction at the beginning of 2019. The breakdown is $1500 per student for the construction cost. That means if 240 families or churches or individuals give $1500, the funds will be raised. Could this be a project for you and your family for an End of the Year donation?
July 8th I landed in Tanzania for two weeks. I was able to meet the new principal of the college, George James. He has great vision. Many are being reached through the ministry of the students who have graduated. Having more students attending means that more people will be reached with the Gospel.
Those two weeks allowed me to arrange for a topographical survey of the college, a necessary step toward future construction projects. I was able to discuss future plans for the computer lab with our supplier, InfoSys. I met with the new computer lab instructor and also the internet providers for the college. Next on the list was meeting with our bankers and attorney. Business in Developing Countries moves slowly – prayer is appreciated to see all applications approved.
September 24th we will host the 7th Annual African Moons Golf Tournament. It is always a great time to fellowship and meet new friends. The proceeds benefit the Shalom Center Orphanage and what an impact we were able to make for those kids last year. We provided scholarships for 7 students, purchased all their school supplies and so much more. This year our goal is to provide scholarships for 12 students. Pray this is our best tournament!
During the month of November we will be celebrating the 60th Northern Bible College Graduation! We can’t wait to celebrate with all the graduates.
During our November trip is also when “Christmas in a Box” will be presented to the children of Shalom Center. The goal is 100 “Shoe Boxes”. You will be hearing more about this in the next few weeks. Start planning to be a part of this incredible time of sharing and giving.
We thank God for each of you. Your prayers and support help us continue this mission. These last months of 2018 will pass quickly, but we look forward to seeing the results of your faithfulness in action. We love you and thank God for each of you!
Tanzania for Jesus!
